With a wonderful Advent Season behind us, we look toward the New Year with anticipation about what God is going to do in our midst.  What an encouraging time of worship last Sunday, as we celebrated Christ’s birth and shared hopes for what 2014 will hold for Emmanuel Church.  We pray that we will all keep looking unto Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith, Who for the joy that was before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of God.  Because we can trust our salvation and our faith to the One who is the author and finisher of it, we have nothing to fear.  We look toward the New Year with confidence not in ourselves, but in the One who is able to do exceedingly, abundantly more than we could ever ask or think.  To Him be the glory forever!
